Every December , I start thinking about my next years resolution and look back year before resolution. For past 3 years it stayed pretty much the same.  Get back in shape, start masters , visit some cool places, make new friends, adventures and most of all be happy. For 2014 it's pretty much the same. Not sure if it means I did not change or my resolutions did not :p Anyway here is my 2014 resolution. Run at least one  5k or 10 k Take GMAT  Pay off my car loan Take adventurous trip Be awesome and ENJOY :)

It has been a year since I became Pescetarian . I do not remember the exact date, I decided not to eat meat.  In an fall night last year, I watched a documentary called Food Inc.   I was upset for animal cruelty in US watching it. I  did not feel like eating meat afterwards.  It was not a conscious decision. I did not  think it will last this long. After a while it became a habit. I was shocked how easy it was. I have dinner with friends and family, who loves eating meat. For some reason, it did not temp me. I always find something to eat in the menu. Even in the house parties. My husband is very respectful of my choice. He never pressures me to eat or cook meat.  My parents accommodates my choice. However they are quite vocal about the fact that , some meat are good for health.My deshi friends and family could not accept, that  someone would choose not to eat meat. They always try to prove that I am a hypocrite or insane, even though they do thei...

We came to Seattle a week before my start date , so that we will have enough time to find an apartment and settle down.  We started keeping a eye on Craigslist and other apartment listing websites from February.  After some research we decided 1500 would be a wholesome budget to find a 2 bed apartment near Bellevue area.  It will be 10-15 minutes drive from my work. The neighborhood seems a good combination of suburb and downtown life style. My company gave me an agent to show us some apartments in the area. We had a half day tour in a very rainy day . It was a epic waste of time.  The apartments were pretty dingy, even the renovated one. The pictures in the apartment listings were from model home. So the actual apartment look nothing like the picture. The square footage for too bed is tinier than my one bed apartment in Houston. Yes I know everything is bigger and better in Texas. However this apartments are worse than my student apartment in Denton, Tx. In Sea...

I left my job as a Information technology specialist at oxy petroleum last week. The good bye was hard. My manager took the team out for lunch.  I was pretty sad to say good byes to all the nice people I worked with for the past two years. However all of a sudden, I realized this place will function just fine without me. People will come to work, have lunch , gossip.... whatever they do every damn day. All is good. I'm taking about two weeks off between jobs. My new job requires leaving Texas and moving to 2200 miles away in Washington (not D.C , the state) This is my Crtl + Alt + Del.  I decided to take this time to chill, try new things , and I'll write about each day. 4/6- 4/7 The weekend was pretty mellow. Yeameen came to keep me company. We went for a run. I was hesitant , as I know how competitive he is and my fitness level is not quite there yet. There is a famous saying when " When life gives you lemons, make lemonade . "  But when life really gives us lemons what should we do. Here is various idea I collected over various sources. A lost kitty cat came to my balcony. I live on 2nd floor and there are no trees nearby. I was so surprised to find how it managed to climb to the 2nd floors. It wasn't a well kept kitty. Not groomed. You can tell it had fleece just looking at it.  More over I'm highly allergic to cats. I closed my balcony door. It managed to get down after a while. I asked my land lady she told me its one of my neighbor's abundant cat.  They don't take care of it at all. Its always on the loose. they don't even let it in. Last week, it pooped on my front door. It was disgusting. I forgot about the whole kitty thing until I saw it under my car last night. It was sitting there. I can tell it was cold. For the first time I feel bad for the helpless kitty. I decided to call animal control. While looking for their number, I found animal control catches stray animals;  put them for adoption for a week. If nobody adopts by then, they impound the poor animal. After that I couldn't c...

Do not buy or eat anymore chips. Put a cap on daily sugar intake. Take no more than 4 cups of coffee daily. Do not speed more than 5 mph over the speed limit.. Do not grab quick bites. Sit down for 15 minutes and have a meal. Work on the resume. Start networking. Work out at least 3 times a week . Don't make any excuses. Cook.  Do not order pizzas. Stop eating out. Accept the facts of life and Move on. Under any circumstances (without exceptions) Do not loose temper . Do not answer phones , if you are in bad mood. Recently people are telling me to move all over the world. My mom has a crazy idea that I should move to Australia. The reason behind is out of this post's scope. I think myself as a global citizen. Places and faces are getting old.I'm going home. The whole world is my home. I used to live off my car. I stayed in 3 different cities on each week for a whole semester. So, I'm not the person who is afraid of moving. Its that I need good enough reason to move. But there are 2 cities thats close to my heart. Dhaka and Denton, TX. These are two totally different cities. In my mind , not sure why those seems so smiler. Here are the reasons I shouldn't move out of TX for at least next year. Texas is not too cold. I hate gloomy weather. You have cold and rainy weather just for 3 months of the whole year You can earn enough to take long vacation in summer. :) No state tax. Economy is doing good comparing to rest of the country. Good job opportunity for my major.Google...

I went to see the first highly anticipated horror movie of 2009 Unborn today. The trailer was awesome. I didn't forget to take my blankie... in case I need to cover my eyes :p In the movie theater, audience were mostly girls. I couldn't help thinking what is it with girls and horror movies? One of my friends said ... girls like to get scared and hold there significant others hand and like to be loved. On contrary, who doesn't want to be loved? It should be same for both guys and girlz. Though the movie had some not so relevant shower and night sense of Odette Yustman just to appeal to the male audience. Now for the movie, Unborn was a okay scary movie.Its a story of Nazi daemon, that haunts twins. Odette Yustman was good as the lead character. The movie tried to appeal to the Jews and Holocaust victims, which I found really tacky. The bugs coming out of victims mouth was unnecessary. One of my all time favorite breakfast is freshly brewed mocha with espresso cake. It became an indulgence for the tight budgets these days… So I decided to make it myself this morning and have to admit it wasn’t bad at all…actually it was awesome :p The smell of freshly brewed coffee is so stimulating …. It just makes my day. Espresso cake Ingredients: Betty crocker's French vanilla cake mix Eggs Butter Flodgers instant coffee Sour cream Half n half Process: Mix cake mix, eggs, half N half and butter very slowly. Mix the coffee and the sour cream in another bowl. Mix it with the batter. Put it to oven for 350 F for 30 minutes. I used 9 inch loaf pan. I like to keep myself updated on current events. I'm following the Presidential election 2008 since IOWA coccus. Even to make things more fun I'm taking my American Government class in Fall08. It is a long process. Last night I went to the syndicate to witness the historic moment with fellow students. Everybody was screaming. " We love change ". It was really overwhelming in Texas. Historically Texas is the Republican state. and none of the Denton officials are Democrat. The turnout was awesome. After Obama's winning announcement, students were running crazy , screaming " Yes we can " After that Rithia and I took a walk. People were all over the streets. Its a pretty big thing on a school night. I have a project due tomorrow. I couldn't work on it. It was sooooooooooo overwhelming. It was 2.00 am in the morning when we came back. March 03 2006, I left my home country. This was the day, when I had to say good bye to not only my friends and family but also to my homeland, where I grew up and lived 19 years of my life. It was a very emotional moment for me. I can remember the day in every detail. I woke up very early that morning. My cousin came to see me. I could not talk to her. My voice could not reach my throat, everything I had to say, came out from my eyes. I started crying. She was trying to make me calm down but I could not hold my tears. You cannot cry for long. So, we started talking and packing stuff for the departure. My mom cooked some of my favorite dishes for lunch. The whole family had our lunch together. I get off from work at late night, around 12 0’ clock. I like to walk home. While walking back home, I have two companion with me, IPOD and enormous night sky. Since I walk down the same way, I like to look above and watch the spectacular night sky. It appears to me different each night. The blue-black heavens dotted with sparkling lights as the darkness enveloped the surroundings, with the shadows of trees breaking the outline of sky and earth to provide a nocturnal piece of art. From my perch on the world, I assumed everyone had this view. I see a different sky every night. Each star is not in a fixed location nightly, nor is the moon the same fullness, nor is the clouds in the same places. The night before was the same canvas with a different painting? If you observe closely you will find the difference very easily. When there is cloud, the night sky turns deep purple. I am sure there is a scientific reason behind this.
