Volunteering Fun I volunteered as a guest speaker for Dallas Public Library's teen education program. I was there to inspire high school kids to pursuit college. I never had experience with teenagers. It was quite interesting. At first they all seem little sigh. The teen co-ordinate Wanda had to drag the kids to the auditorium. They didn't seem very inclined to listen. So I started asking questions. After some time they started to ask all sort of questions about colleges. Some how the discussion moved to parties, sorority girls, frat boys, safe sex practice and dating. It was out of my comfort zone. Wanda came to my rescues. She started talking about her college experience back in time. I couldn't help comparing hers to mine. I 'm missing out whole lot of college experience. আমার অনেক গুলো বদ স্বভাবের একটা হল , সময়ের কাজ অসময়ে করা। এই যেমন এখন অফিসে বসে লিখছি। হাতে অনেক কাজ , একটু গুছিয়ে রাখলেই ডেডলাইনের আগে হিমশিম খেতে হত না। কিন্তু কাজ করতে একেবারেই ইচ্ছা করছে না। প্রচন্ড গরম পড়েছে কদিন ধরে। রোজই তাপমাত্রা ১০০ এর উপরে। গতকাল অল্প বৃষ্টি হয়াতে গরম আরো বেরে গেছে। গরমের সময় যেটা করতে আমার সবচেয়ে ভাল লাগে সেটা হল আইস্ক্রীম খাওয়া আর পানিতে দাপাদাপি করা। এই গ্রীষ্মে এখনো পানিতে নামা হয়নি। এইবার সাঁতারটা অবশ্যি শিখতে হবে। গরমের কারনেই হয়তো, অনেক্ষাণ ফ্লিকারে বরফের ছবি দেখলাম। আল্পেশিয়ান পর্বতের চুড়ায় সাদা তুষারের উপর রোদ পরে ঝিকমিক করছে। অপুর্ব !!! আমার কখনো স্কী করা হয়নি। চাকরি পেয়ে আমার প্রথম ছুটিতে যাব স্কী করতে। নিউ মেক্সিকো অথবা সিটকা। পাহাড়ের নীচে কাঠের কেবিনের জানালা দিয়ে তুষার দেখব, ফায়ারপ্লেসের পাশে বসে। হাতে থাকবে গরম মোকা এবং প্রিয় কোন বই আর ঘরে বাজবে সিনাত্রার...
